ok so I have a couple of new things to share

I finished up a Christmas present for my sister-in-law's sister lol- What does that make us???? I decided to make another Dear Scarflette and another One Day Beret, and pass it off as a set lol. I'm so smart lol. I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick and got it done super fast, thankfully, because I finished just in time :)

Here is the Black Scarfie (Dear Scarflette):

And here is the One day Beret : Which while I'm talking about, isn't a beret at all :( That was disappointing, but it makes a cute beanie so I'll forgive :p I look a mess in these pictures, but that's what happens to me after a full Sunday of knitting lol.

So now, I've picked up my cabled clutch again. That's actually fun to work on. I hate things that aren't fun. After I'm done with the clutch I've got to start thinking about some baby shower gifts to make. I have two friends due in March and April. And it usually takes me forever to do things, so I've got to start thinking about it now. *sigh*

New stuff going on

Ok, so I am still working on the Bears scarf. Hubby hopes to be the envy of everyone this weekend at his friend's birthday party at his house. Said friend is a die-hard Bears fan too. So the pressure is on to get it done this weekend lol.

I put the clutch purse (that I'm in the middle of) on the back burner. I am much more excited about this really quick and cute pattern I found on Ravelry: Dear Scarflette . I am trying to make as many as I can to give out as Christmas gifts. I am on my second one already. Lets' hope that I can get ten of these babies done! Cross your fingers and toes for me please!!!!!!! I can do it!

NFL Team Patch Scarf Pattern

Excellent news! I'm able to bring to you my first Free Pattern! *insert applause here*

Here it is:

NFL Team Patch Scarf

Materials:
3 Skeins Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick (or any other Super Bulky yarn will do) (2 skeins are for the MC and 1 skein is for the CC)
Size 17 needles
2 Team patches about 4 inches X 3 inches

*Gauge is not important

Cast on 20 stitches with MC
Row 1- Knit
Row 2- Knit
Row 3-Purl
Row 4- Purl
Repeat Rows 1-4 three more times for a total of 4 repeats.
Switch to CC
Work garter stitch for 10 rows
Switch to MC
Work in stockinette for 16 rows, starting with a K row and ending with a P row
Switch to CC
Work garter stitch for 10 rows
Switch back to MC and work garter stitch for desired number of rows. Remember that we are going to repeat the striping pattern we just did for the other end, so allow room for that.

Switch to CC
Work garter stitch for 10 rows
Switch to MC
Work Stickinette for 16 rows starting with a K row and ending with a P row.
Switch to CC
Work garter stitch for 10 rows
Switch to MC
Work Rows 1-4 above for a total of 4 repeats.

Now you can either use the remaining CC yarn or the MC to add fringe to the ends.

**Now comes the tricky part- Sew one team patch on each side on the MC stockinette section. It lays flat so it shouldn't give you a problem.
Now you can enjoy the warmth!

For my scarf I made for my husband, I used Navy Blue as my MC and Orange as the CC, as his favorite NFL team is the Chicago Bears.

UPDATE

I finished the Fingerless Mitts! YAY! I'm so proud of myself! Now I just have to seam one up. I already did one. Now I bet you it will sit there just waiting for a tapestry needle to attack them. don't you wish knitting projects can seam themselves? But, alas, they don't :(

Wow its certainly has been a spell....

Wow, it says I haven't posted since August. That can't be right. Now I'm not necessarily calling Blogspot a liar, but really, it can't be true. Oh well, those are the breaks. It was probably just the end of the summer knitting rut. Everyone goes through that, no? Well, maybe not but I did!

Ok on to the stuff. lol. Here's what I've got OTN:

1. Silver Fingerless Mitts from the Julia Cooper Chick Knits book- VERY AWESOME~These will probably be completed early next week. I'm contemplating giving them to Rosie for Christmas, but that would entail a matching hat and I may not have the time or the discipline to actually get it done. But I will certainly try!

2. A Chicago Bears scarf for Hubby. He has been bugging me forever to do it for him and so I just started those. I'm just doing a simple garter stripe with Lion Brand Thick and Quick yarn (super bulky) and size 17 needles. Cake. He also ordered Bears patches to sew on it, so it will be very nice looking! Again, I'm hoping for the discipline to get it done by Christmas. He needs a matching hat too, no? :)

3. Cuckoo for Cables clutch purse. This isn't for anyone, its just because, and I've got a little ways to go on it. It has taken a back seat to numbers 1 and 2. That's the way it goes. *sigh*

Knitting again!

Hi everyone! So I finally started knitting again! I am starting to make my Christmas gifts to I have to get to it! I just finished the Kitty Hat (pattern is here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=61208.0 )

It was super fast and easy and it only took me a couple days worth of work during my lunch hour to do it! Now, tonight I have to sew the seams, and hat Number 1 is done. I am making a bunch for all Eddie's cousin's kids with matching scarves! They will look so cute and coordinated! WOOHOO! Don't you just love the feeling when you complete something?!

So tomorrow's lunch hour will consist of me casting on for a second Kitty Hat! I have to sew the seams so I can try the hat on Evelyn to see if I got the sizing right. The pattern is written for an adult, so I tried to modify it- Let's hope it works! Keep your fingers crossed folks! I'll have pics tomorrow!

Diagonal Lace Scarf

Finally working on a new project! Its the Diagonal Lace Scarf- its absolutely beautiful! I'm using Red Heart Symphony yarn, its like a "hairy" yarn that I'm really surprised with. I thought you wouldn't be able to appreciate the stitches but you can! I plan to make another with regular worsted to see if I like those results better! I pretty much just started, so this will keep me busy for a while! LOVE IT!

I'm just glad to be back to knitting! I can't stay away too long! :)

We're on a break!

So I decided to take a little break from knitting. I still have have loose end projects to finish up. Who was I kidding by thinking I can knit the Cable comfort throw by the 24th? Silly me, I should have known my knitting attention span is crappy. I always put projects down to start new ones and before I know it, I've got 6 things on the needle. UGH. I pray for the strength to complete one project at a time lol. Grant me the serenity! LOL.

The Two Hour Handbag!

WOOHOO!!! What do ya know! I finished the Two Hour Handbag finally (from 101 Designer one-skein wonders). It really was easy. Now I realize there was nothing to be afraid of. This project for me as a lot of firsts. My first go at circular needles, and my first felting project! Woohoo! I learned two things in one wonderful bag! Don't know if I'll keep it for myself or if I'll be gifting it! I want to try a worsted double stranded one next! I think I did a good job if i do say so myself! YAY!

WOOHOO- can you tell I'm excited!?

Finished up some loose ends this weekend

Ok so this weekend, I figured it was a good time to finish up some projects that were just about done but still sitting on the needles LOL. So I finished Katie's hat- the blue cotton hat(using the VW hat pattern). For some reason I don't think the seaming turned out too well :( .

I also bound off the two hour handbag and stitched the seam. All that is left to do for that one is to felt it. I'm a bit nervous since I've never felted anything before- and there are a couple mistakes that I'm hoping the felting process will cover up! HAHA

But most of all, I'm still trucking on the cable throw- gosh that can be boring doing the same stitches over and over! UGH! But I'm determined to finish it for Lisa! I jsut have to keep telling myself I ca n do it!

So here is the blue cotton hat: Modeled by Andrew :)

Progress is my middle name

ok folks look what I got going on here:

So this is a fairly easy pattern- that is the Cabled Comfort throw (on my previous post). Its just going to be tedious. And yes, Duh- I should have used circulars so I can do this throw in one piece. Lord knows how it will be stitching these panels together- I suck at it LOL :)

Cable Comfort Throw

So now that I have finished the Mita, I've got something else going on..... of course *wink* Now I am working on the Cable Comfort Throw by Lion Brand Yarn online . But, I am doing it as a Bridal Afghan for my cousin Lisa- She is getting married on June 7th and her Bridal shower is on May 24th. so I gotta get cracking on this one :) I can do it though I swear. Instead of using the Wool-Ease Thick and Quick, I am using Red Heart Grande. Cheaper, folks! Gotta love that!

I will definitely update as to my progress and this one I know will take me a while, but I can do it! Gotta love a positive can-do attitude!!!!!!!!!

Knit on folks!

Mita by Berocco

So I have been working on the Mita Bag by Berocco. The pattern can be found here: It is really cute! I am hoping to have it done by Saturday for my niece. It was her birthday this past Sunday and I'll see her on Saturday so I want to be able to give it to her. I have to finisht he second side of the bag and sew the handles on (which I have) so it shouldn't be too bad. The pattern calls for a Berocco ribbon yarn, but I had two skeins of Lion Brand Incredible in my stash so I was glad to be able to use it! Awesome! Stash-busting is pretty cool :)

I went to the dollar store yesterday and I found two skeins of Red Heart Symphony in persimmon- pretty cute color. It is a worsted weight mohair looking acrylic yarn. Now, the big question is, what to do with it? hmmmmm?

Welcome!

So this will be my first blog dedicated to knitting. Woohoo! I feel like I'm taking a giant step here! :) I really wanna step up my knitting- I am anxious to learn new things. I've been at it fr a year and a half (*I think*) and I think its time I take it to the next step. Sweaters, here I come!
